Rebecca hails from Cape Town, South Africa and has professional experience in rural development, land and labour justice, gender and health advocacy, food politics, and youth mobilisation in South Africa and Southern Africa. From 2017 to 2020, she worked at Women on Farms Project, a feminist NGO strengthening the capacity of women who live and work on commercial farms to claim their rights. With this and other experiences in civil society, she has developed skills across project design and management, community organizing, psycho-social case support, research and advocacy, and coordinating networks and coalitions.

She holds a BA Honours in Sociology from the University of Cape Town (South Africa, 2016) and recently completed her Master’s Degree in Development Studies, majoring in Agrarian Food and Environmental Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies (The Netherlands, 2022).
