Elisabeth Ungar Bleier was Executive Director of Transparency for Colombia, TI’s chapter in the country, from 2009 to 2017. She was a professor and researcher in the Department of Political Science at the Universidad de los Andes, from 1975 to 2009, as well as Director of the Department (1995-1996) and member of the University’s board of directors (2005-2007). Founder – and director for 12 years – of Congreso Visible, the first Colombian congressional monitoring committee.

Elisabeth was an advisor to President Barco (1988-1990), and a member of numerous commissions and oversight committees for the election of members of the high courts and political and constitutional reform processes.

Elisabeth was elected to the TI board in 2011. She is currently at Harvard, developing a Fellowship program and has been a Member of the Special Electoral Mission committee since 2017.
