Dialogue to move forward

For a participatory citizenship that builds peace through dialogue

What is it?

In the context of the ‘National Strike’ of 2021, we partnered with the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad de Caldas to create spaces for dialogue among youth, channeling their frustration and proposals for better engagement with decision makers. Using an adapted methodology, we were able to intervene in highly polarized and violent contexts, reaching empathy and reaching consensus.

Challenge

Encouraging peaceful mobilization during citizen strikes by creating representative, diverse and decentralized spaces for conversation that led to citizen proposals for the defense of their interests. This initiative was framed within the ‘National Strike’ of 2021, which highlighted the lack of trust between institutions and citizens.

Strategy

Design and implement an innovative methodology with dialogue tools for citizens and social organizations to identify challenges in Colombia. The objective was to channel citizen proposals and promote spaces for the protection of rights and initiatives to reduce violence.
