Together with USAID, we led the creation of a manual of good communication practices that offers tools to raise awareness and develop communication skills that do not violate the lives, causes or processes defended by social leaders in their communities, aimed at public officials who speak out, or belong to institutions that speak out, on issues related to social leadership.
Challenge
Change discourses and narratives that stigmatize, minimize or justify the violence of which social leaders are victims, especially on the part of public officials who speak out, or belong to institutions that speak out, on issues related to social leadership.
Strategy
Develop a communications campaign to raise awareness and promote good practices in the defense of the cause of social leaders. This included the creation of a best practices manual and the use of online channels to prevent the spread of stigmatization dynamics generated by political polarization, thus facilitating advocacy work on the issue.
