In conjunction with TikTok, we developed a campaign composed of a series of short videos to improve skills against misinformation, bullying and harassment in social networks. In parallel, we conducted an impact assessment with 3,360 young people from 5 Latin American countries to validate the increase in media skills and the level of affinity.
Challenge
To develop media skills in youth to detect false or misleading information on the Internet, as well as to encourage ethical and respectful interaction with others.
Strategy
Deploy media literacy content, based on 6 DigiMENTE lesson plans, using trending topics related to dance, music and funny sketches, with the collaboration of 9 Latin American influencers from TikTok. We conducted an impact evaluation to measure the development of skills to combat misinformation, bullying and harassment in social networks in Spanish-speaking countries and Brazil.
